International Fund For Agricultural Development (IFAD)
IFAD’s supports the Nigerian government’s poverty reduction in rural areas, the program targets large numbers of smallholder farmers and is essentially people-centred. All programmes and projects of IFAD are structured to address the livelihood needs of poor rural people. These operations have contributed to using technology to increase incomes and family food security while also fostering demand-driven and participatory approaches to agricultural and rural support scheme. The International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) also directs its assistance towards empowering small-scale farmers, landless people and rural women to generate sustainable incomes from farming and other agricultural activities as well as improving access of poor rural communities to financial and social services by promoting initiatives to foster rapid poverty reduction and economic growth led by the private sector.
